Older edition — looking for another slot?
This review documents a historical game edition. The archived rules and screenshots do not confirm current availability.
Explore Microgaming gamesThe Grand Circus is Microgaming’s historical five-reel, twenty-line circus slot. This review covers the older desktop edition pictured below, not Ainsworth’s separately developed Grand Circus. Its illustrated performers, animals and circus equipment give it a recognisable identity, but the most useful distinction is in its payout rules: the ringmaster and game logo have both matching-symbol and mixed-symbol line awards.
This is an archival guide, not confirmation that a casino currently offers this edition. Check the actual game’s help before transferring any figures to a different client or release. No verified RTP is supplied here.

Historical game screen and stake controls

The pictured configuration uses 20 lines and 10 coins per line: 200 coins per spin. At a denomination of 0.01 currency units, that costs 2.00 currency units. It does not mean a 200-unit cash stake. The screenshot verifies this configuration, not the full denomination range or a current casino’s minimum and maximum limits.
Verified logo and ringmaster payouts

| Combination | Two | Three | Four | Five |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matching logos or matching ringmasters | 20 | 300 | 500 | 1,000 |
| Mixed logos and ringmasters | Not shown | 100 | 250 | 500 |
These are line-award coefficients, not multipliers of the entire spin cost. For example, five matching logos at ten coins per line award 10,000 coins. At denomination 0.01, that is 100.00 currency units. Against the pictured 2.00 total stake, this individual award is 50 times the spin cost, not 1,000 times it. If it were the only award, the net gain after deducting that spin’s stake would be 98.00.
For a second example, a qualifying mixed five-symbol line at the same settings awards 500 × 10 = 5,000 coins, or 50.00 currency units. Three matching ringmasters award 300 × 10 = 3,000 coins, or 30.00 units. These calculations illustrate the displayed line rules; they are not a maximum-win promise or an estimate of how often a combination occurs.
Bonus features and edition limits
The historical sister-site review describes circus-triggered free spins and a bear-picking feature. However, the two archived screens available here do not show the complete bonus instructions. Exact trigger conditions, bonus award limits and scatter payouts are therefore not certified by this guide. Consult the matching edition’s remaining help pages; the line table above must not be used as a scatter table.
The Grand Circus FAQs
Is this the Ainsworth Grand Circus game?
No. This page covers the historical Microgaming twenty-line edition. Similar titles do not establish shared rules.
Why does the screen show a bet of 200?
It shows coins: twenty lines multiplied by ten coins. With the pictured 0.01 denomination, the cash-equivalent spin cost is 2.00.
Do mixed logos and ringmasters pay the same as matching symbols?
No. The displayed five-symbol mixed award is half the matching award at the same line stake. Use the separate mixed row.
Is the 1,000 figure a total-bet multiplier?
No. The help screen applies it to the coins wagered on the winning line. The total spin stake also depends on how many lines are active.
Are these current stake limits or availability claims?
No. They are worked examples from a historical configuration. Availability, allowed stakes and any revised rules must be checked in the actual casino client.
