Who Wants to be a Millionaire slotWho Wants to be a Millionaire is a 5-reel, 20-line video slot which is based on probably the most famous TV game show in the world. But those who expect questions to be asked will be disappointed. The slot can be found at numerous online casinos with Playtech games and it offers players a much easier way to become rich – by simply spinning the reels and relying on luck.

Playtech’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire slot stays true to the original TV game franchise with imagery and soundtrack inspired by it. Symbols include a question mark, a timer, the Millionaire logo, and others that are perfectly in line with the game which has become incredibly popular in many countries around the world. The gambling action takes place at the TV show room, of course, and in the background, we can see the contestant and the questioner. As expected, the prevalent color of the slot is blue and everything is designed in the recognizable Who Wants to be a Millionaire fashion. The reels are 5 and each has 3 rows of symbols, which can be considered an industry standard. But there are plenty of bonus features that will surprise even the most experienced players.

The minimum bet you can place per line is 0.01 credits while the maximum reaches 25 credits in your preferred currency. You can also activate as many pay lines as you wish and the maximum bet will cost you 500 credits per spin.

Special Symbols

All the basic symbols in the slot are from the popular quiz show and include a contestant, a question screen, a cheque, a question mark, a British pound or a Euro symbol, an Ask the Audience chart, the Who Wants to be a Millionaire logo, a timer, and a question. In order to form a winning combination, at least three matching symbols need to appear on an active pay line. There are also several special symbols in the slot which trigger different bonus features.

The Wild symbol is represented by the audience and it substitutes for all icons on the reels, except for the Scatters. There is no separate Wild payout but this is easily compensated with the addition of three different Scatter symbols. The first one is the lifeline bonus sign which does not have to land any particular reel in order to bring a winning. When three or more Lifeline Scatters appear on the reels, they award a payout and trigger the Lifeline Bonus feature.

The second Scatter symbol comes in the shape of the jackpot ladder sign. Whenever 3 or more Jackpot Ladder Scatters fall on any position on the reels, they activate the Jackpot Ladder feature. There is one more Scatter icon and this is the player’s choice sign, which shows three green bars and a green one, displaying the player’s chosen answer for the question. When 3 or more of this symbol land anywhere on the screen, they trigger the Player’s Choice Bonus and pay out a certain amount.

Bonus Games and Features

The three Scatter symbols activate three different bonus features. The Lifeline Bonus can be accessed whenever you get 3 or more of its corresponding symbols. You are presented with three “lifelines”, or the bonuses players have in the quiz show, and you need to pick one of them. You will receive a certain amount of free spins and for their duration, you will have a Sticky Wild on the reels. This symbol functions just like a regular Wild, but it remains in its position for several spins.

The other bonus feature in the game is the Player’s Choice Bonus which you receive after landing at least three of these Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. The three icons then transform into answer boxes and you are asked to pick one. The box will open revealing a cash prize. The third bonus feature is probably the most lucrative one and it can be triggered when you land 3 Jackpot Ladder anywhere on the reels.

The Jackpot Ladder Bonus is a 15-level game where you will enter a quiz session with questions, while answers are given automatically at random. When an answer is correct, you can choose Advance to move up the ladder and enter the next level. You can also choose Collect, which will give you the prize you have already won and will end the bonus game. The third option you can choose is Mystery – it can turn into either Collect or Advance, and you may even advance by several places.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire is definitely a popular TV quiz and the slot based on it offers almost equal excitement. There may be no questions but the bonus games and features will definitely keep you entertained for hours while winning in the slot game is much easier. The appearance of the game and its soundtrack create a really unique atmosphere that resembles the tension and the thrill of the actual TV show.

Overall, this is a really entertaining and rewarding video slot that promises great returns and the option to play with pennies or much higher stakes. And for all fans of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the game is certainly worth at least a few spins.
