The event itself was held in King’s Casino at Corinthia Hotel, Prague. The organizer was TonyBet Poker. Blomlie’s victory was not that easy as he had to defeat more than 100 players who participated in the Main Event.
When it became clear who the champion is, Blomlie was awarded the belt of Open Face Chinese as well as the sum of €35,000 for his first place.
Blomlie is not a newbie in the poker industry, though and this was not the first tournament he has taken part in. Two years ago, he won the Player of the Year title at the World Championship of Online Poker. Plus, he became the winner of the World Poker Tour OFC Poker Pineapple Event, which took place in the Philippines in October. He achieved an impressive victory over Jan Hendrik Tapken. The German became a runner-up and added €21,000 to his bank account.
Right after his overwhelming victory, Blomlie told the media that he had lots of fun during the tournament and he enjoyed every stage of it. Plus, he considered the Open-face Chinese poker to be a relaxing game.
The organizer of the Championship, TonyBet Poker, did its best to pay attention to every detail. The venue, where the Open Face Chinese Poker World Championship took place, was King’s Casino in Prague. A great number of professional and non-professional players gathered for the event.
As mentioned above, Blomlie and Tapken took the first and the second place. Gary Stone, Oleg Udovenko and Maxim Panyak were ranked on third, fourth ad fifth position, respectively.
As a matter of fact, a considerable number of Russian players participated in the event. The German presence was also significant. As many as 12 German and 17 Russian players took part in the championship. As for the number of Czech participants, they were 11 and some of the notable players in the tournament were Alex Bilokur, Alexander Kostritsyn and Konstantin Puchkov.
However, it seems like Jennifer Shahade‘s participation was the most impressive one. She got €10,000 for becoming a winner at the Open-Face Chinese Poker World Championship High Roller that took place last Tuesday.
Right after the tournament, Shahade shared that she was not too satisfied with her performance at the beginning but then, she managed to concentrate and defeat her opponents. She remained hopeful that she will have the chance to take part in more tournaments of this kind in future.
