Only two casino games rank among the 30 most widely available titles in each of six European markets, according to data measuring the share of tracked brands offering individual games. Play’n GO’s Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead achieved that reach across the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, France and the Netherlands.
The Blask data, extracted on 24 August 2026, measures brand coverage rather than player popularity. It covers 236 brands in the UK, 79 in Italy, 249 in Germany, 83 in Spain, 75 in France and 82 in the Netherlands.
Market structures differ. France does not authorise online casino games, so its figures represent offshore and grey-market offerings aimed at French players. Germany permits nationally licensed virtual slots and online poker, while online casino table games require approval at state level.
Andrew Pink, head of brand and communication at Play’n GO, said: “When comparing coverage figures across European markets, it’s important to understand exactly what is being measured. Visibility estimates do not always reflect actual regulated market activity, particularly in jurisdictions with very different regulatory structures. For operators, suppliers, and media alike, robust and transparent data remains critical to ensuring that market comparisons are meaningful and accurately reflect reality.”
Two Play’n GO Titles Reach All Six Markets
Book of Dead ranked first in the Netherlands with 49% brand coverage and fifth in France with 23%. It also placed third in the UK, ninth in Italy, 12th in Germany and eighth in Spain.
Legacy of Dead also reached every top-30 list. It ranked fifth in the UK with 39% coverage, 16th in Italy with 32%, 13th in Germany with 29%, 14th in Spain with 39%, 22nd in France with 19% and third in the Netherlands with 40%.
Pink attributed the titles’ continued presence to established player recognition and long-term operator relationships.
“Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead have earned their place through a combination of strong player recognition, proven long-term performance, and the trust we’ve built with operators over many years.”
Provider Representation Varies Across Markets
Pragmatic Play supplied 60 of the 180 ranked positions, representing one-third of all entries. Its games appeared in every country, including 14 of Germany’s 30 positions.
Big Bass Splash featured in five countries and led the UK, Germany and Spain. Its 73.5% coverage in Spain was the highest figure recorded for a market-leading game.
France had a markedly different mix. Evolution’s Lightning Roulette led with 34.7% coverage, while live games, roulette and crash titles occupied 17 positions. Slots accounted for 13 entries.
Slots nevertheless dominated the overall comparison, taking 148 of 180 positions. Germany had 29 slots in its top 30, followed by the Netherlands with 28 and Italy with 27.
Book of Dead launched in 2016 and Legacy of Dead in 2019. Pink said their longevity reflected continued player interest.
“Longevity comes from delivering genuine entertainment value rather than chasing short-term trends. Games that continue to attract players year after year become important portfolio staples for operators, which is why titles like Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead maintain their relevance even as new content is introduced.”
