Wild Viking Progressive Jackpot

wild-vikingWild Viking is a progressive jackpot game powered by the leading gaming software provider Playtech and is offered at most online casinos that are based on Playtech’s platform. It can freely be described as an odd mixture of a game of roulette played by using no wheel and ball, but cards instead. The aim of the game is to correctly predict the single card or combination of cards that are to be drawn at random by the dealer.

This usually sounds a bit complicated, especially to beginners. The truth is that there is nothing to be worry about, especially when you get used to the specific features of the game.

Game Features

As mentioned above, Playtech’s Wild Viking is a totally unique game, which combines major elements and characteristics of both Poker and Roulette. There is no wheel and ball, but a 54-card deck, including two jokers, is used in the gameplay. Players are allowed to make multiple bets, and of course, larger prizes are granted for bets which odds are lower.

The game automatically deals a total of five cards from the deck. The player is provided with the opportunity to make a suggestion what the last card in the sequence will be. But that is not all. There are poker bets provided in Wild Viking, which are based on the poker value of the five cards dealt.

“Roulette” Bets

The bets made by the player on their suggestion of the last card dealt can be called “roulette bets”, because they pretty much correspond to the bets made over the traditional casino game of Roulette. The bets themselves are also pretty much the same as the ones made during the standard roulette game. The only difference is that the bets in Wild Viking are made on cards dealt, instead of on a spinning wheel and a ball.

Players can choose between a great variety of bets, as follows:

  • Wagers made on red, black, odd and even. Such bets’ pays are 2 for 1
  • A single card bet. It pays 52 for 1
  • Wagers placed on two cards. They pay 26 for 1
  • Bets made on four cards. Such pays are equal to 13 for 1
  • Players can also bet on 2-5, 6-9, 10-K. The pays equals to 3 for 1
  • Bets made on 2-7, 8-K. They pay 2 for 1
  • Wagers placed on a suit. The pays are 4 for 1.

“Poker” Bets

The bets, which are based on the poker-value of the five cards dealt, are usually called “Poker Bets”. These bets are considered winning ones in case that the final five-card hand dealt by the “dealer” is equal to the poker value of the player’s bet or better.

The Progressive Jackpot option in the game is only available for real money.

Here is a list with the different types of bets included in the “Poker Bets” version of the Wild Viking:

  • Pair – sixes or better. This bet pays 1 to 1
  • Two pair. The pays are equal to 6 to 1
  • Three of a kind. The pays are 9 to 1
  • Four of a kind. The bet pays 280 to 1
  • The player can bet on a Straight, which pays 45 to 1
  • Flush. The wager pays 90 to 1
  • Full house, which is paid at 150 to 1

Progressive Jackpot Bet

One of the greatest features of the game is the Progressive Jackpot bet. The latter is called the Wild Viking and is one of the reasons why the game has become so popular among players all over the world.

What is considered to be specific about the Progressive Jackpot bet is the fact that it is also based on the final five-card hand’s poker value. However, in order for the player to win the progressive jackpot, they are required to get a “Wild Viking”. The so-called Wild Viking is actually a wild royal flush, in which the first and last cards dealt are the jokers included in the card-deck.
